Ewwwww... I don't like the memory... that might limit you some...
Also, its going to depend on case cooling, and just how lucky you are, but I can say you'll probably be able to reach to prolly 2.5... more if you use better memory and have a decent amount of case airflow. The mobo is decent, that should work fine.
Your going to need at least some high end ddr2-667 ram that you can overclock to 400mhz, or ddr2-800. I got my 6400 running @ 415mhz x7 with minor over-voltage on the cpu and not touching the ram, I know it will go higher, I am being very conservative.
The best you might get with cheap ram is 2664mhz. Remember, in most cases concerning memory, you get what you pay for.
I would suggest DDRII-667, that will allow you to bring the cpu to the exact speed of the E6700(2.66ghz) while running 1;1 with the ram at DDR667(FSB 333).
I like Kingston Value ram, works like a charm. Crucial is also really good in the mainstream segment.
Afternoon Ninja, Haven't talked in a while, was away for the weekend!
Well except for super High OC with fancy cooling, I don't think it would be usefull to have 1066/1111 Ram. And it probably doesn't run any better with memory divider...
A E6300 would be at 3733MHz running one one, can they go this far?
What about the 'true' Allendale, maybe it could be pushed this far..?
Oh and on a side note, just spent 286$ on a SilverStone TJ09, black with window, ouch, this case better be next to me 5 years from now!!!
Man... 300 for a case... I can't do that, the nine-hundred seems to work just fine. After I put in my Delta 190 CFM fan, I'll have a whopping 350 CFM of exhaust (and 150 CFM of intake... I really need to figure something out...)
I couldn't do it either, yet I did it! I consider it an investement. I hope that and my 700W PSU will stick with me for ~ years.
Compare that to my usual 3 Years, it should be good. Also if treated well this Case will still be worth ~200$ in a couple of year... And the 900 didn't cut it, nor did the NZXT or the P180 or the Lian-li.
In the end, it was worth the extra $ over a Stacker.
LOL, when our resident millionare doesn't spend that much on a case, that tells you something
Nah, it is a real nice case, I'd pick it up in a jiffy if it dropped in price (dropped quite a bit =P) But post pics once you're done. We can then all go ooh and aah...
Meh... console review... too lazy to even read through it, since there's way too many of them and I'm not a console gamer... sorry Ninja, but nice picks...
Samurai Champloo soundtrack... trying to think if I have it... I know I have roughly 100 gig's of anime soundtracks, so I should have it... meh, didn't like the series all that much, so no biggie.
Yeah that crap is way to expensive, it will bring my overall system at 3000$Can which is not that bad considering I got 1K from my old one, I will get a 22" wide screen that should fit pretty well with my current 19" 4:3.
Cheapest 22" (1680x1050) that I can find is the Acer......$365 @ DirectCanada.
Is that $200 US I would assume?
I'm looking to add a 22" 16:10 to my 19" 4:3 as well......the Westinghouse is nice but am having a bit of a hard time finding here in Canuckland. I think I saw it on NCIX for $400-something......? The Acer seems to be getting fairly favorable reviews, considering its price.
Joke aside, this case better be good =), screw the stacker =)
@Doughbuy , I am leaning toward a new ViewSonic, I can get it for ~410$(CAN) and it seam to be a notch over the ACER.
I am looking at the Samsung you told me about, the Acer and the ViewSonic.
WTH is westinghouse? don't know if I trust these.
Damn I like those thread Hijack with Dough et Ninja
Yeah, good ol Black Friday deal. Best Buy is selling it for 200. Circuit City is selling Samsung 225BW for 280, and CompUSA is selling the same Samsung for 300...
I like Samsung more than Westinghouse, but a 100 dollar difference is hard to beat...
It's easy to outspend Ninja. If your name begins with Bill and ends with Gates...
