I have a V2Premier computer with a 20" lcd monitor. Im running windows XP home edition w/ sp2. My video card (VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP) is onboard. I have only one expansion slot (AGP). I had a video card (NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro) from my old desktop. This card was an AGP type. When I tried to install this card. My original VGA output (VIA/S3G) would not work. I did reininstall drivers for both cards, restarted, etc. Device mgr. told me that the VIA/S3G would not start.
What I am trying to do is add my 32" Samsung flat panel tv as a second display. The samsung has inputs for a PC (VGA and 1/8" mini-plug for sound). I am trying to acheive the ability to sit at my desk and work on my computer, but have the ability to toggle from display 1 to display 2 and take my wireless keyboard and mouse and then use my Samsung as my monitor. Is this possible? Can I just buy an AGP card with dual vga outputs. If so what model. Nothing to expensive as I am ony using the displays for typical windows and internet surfing, very rarely any gaming, as i have Xbox for that.
