I have a 24 inch Dell monitor and it runs at 1920x1200 native res. SLI will help run my games full tilt and they are D-X10. Dont want to spend crazy money on D-X9 cards. Vista is coming and D-X10 will optimize that OS.

The case needs to be large enough for the crazy big vid cards and future upgrades.

Getting off the topic of displays...You may want to get a different DVD-RW...I think you're going to be hard pressed to tell the difference between that plextor and a $30 one. Also, you might want to hold off on a raptor and wait for the solid state drives to come down a bit.

Also another thought would be to pass on the 2nd gpu and put that money towards a quad core cpu...You can always pick up a 2nd card later if you need it and its bound to be cheaper.

Yeah I think I'm going to drop both 8800GTS cards and go with just one 8800GTX card. I think it should do fine with my monitor at native res. 1920x1200 and if it dont I'll just pick up another later in 07.

I have to order my parts before the first of the year so my business can apply new PC towards my tax's of 06 so I'm not sure waiting for the slate drives is an option. Plus you can always wait for something better to come along which is always coming in the Pooter World.

Optical Drive's. I'm really at a lost here. I need a really good DVD burner as I have tons of digital video on my mini DV camcorder. Which would you recommend?
