gonna have 2 gigs total 4X512...

its corsair value select - i understand that there
could be varying batch runs that could result in
differing tolerances to oc'ing..... 8O

over all do you think i'm better off going to 2 gig? i'm doing this cuz i have a 8800gts on the way ....

There won't be any. Both set should run in dual channel mode with no problem. You will only see better performance.

FOR DDR Channel two sticks are better then 4, but the performance gain is negligable (sp?).

What are your entire specs???, im puzzled that you are asking about DDR1 and have a 8800 on the way.
