Ok, its a good 3 years since I have had to replace a power supply and they seem to have changed a lot, all I want to know, is this power supply compatible with a Abit IC7 Max 3 motherboard.

The motherboard is a 20 pin atx + 4pin P4 connection

The psu is this one:

Hiper HPU-4K580-MK Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU - Black UV

I can't seem to find a 100% answer on this, which is stopping me from ordering it.

Thanks

Yes it will work no problem, for the main ATX connector just disconnect the "+4" part of the 20+4 connector and you're left with the 20-pin ATX that is 100% compatible.

The part you just disconnected, do not connect it to anything, just tie it off out of the way somewhere.

For the CPU power use the +12v connector

and you're good to go.

Pics from HPU-4K580-MS @ newegg should be very similiar.

Yeah, thats a decent psu, and it shouldn't have any problems in your case. doolittle explained it decently well, so we'll leave it at that...

P.S. Most modern PSU's come with either a 4-pin ATX and a 8-pin EPS connection. Cover's all angles.

Thanks very much, just the answer I was looking for, I was 99% sure that was the case, just wanted some clarification.

Thanks again.
