I have not done a build for several years.
I will be replacing an athlon 1800 with a Nforce chipset, Old school.

I have been looking at CPU's and motherboards and after using AMD for several years I am leaning towards Intel.
This system will be on a budget for sure.

I am looking a the
Biostar T Force 965PT or MSI P965 platinum
Intel E 6300
total price 285 to 315

Athlon 64 X2 3800
MSI board most likely, SLI etc
total price 257 ish.

I am trying to be on a budget but I have been looking at Cpu charts and the 6300 destroys the X2 3800 from the benchmarks I have seen.
Well worth the money difference.
I have always been partial to the nForce chipset but not sure if it is worth sticking with it.
I am also looking at a 7600 GT.

Any recomendations?
Cpu, Motherboard, video, memory etc.
Could really use some help,

I'm not an expert (I'm sure several will be in shortly) but both of those boards sounded pretty good in the recent P965 shootout. The MSI sounded better, but the Biostar sounded a little cheaper and still decent.

Are you planning to overclock? Conroes are good for it, but you need decent RAM.

I am sure I will overclock a bit eventually.
I will mostly be a weekend gamer.
I am also concerned with longevity.
any memory suggestions?
