I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section but I'm trying my best to catogorize it.
My computer problems started about 2 months ago with Firefox and Internet Explorer closing every now and then unexpectedly. However within the last couple of weeks it had become more frequent and I started to get concerned. I decided it was time to format the computer again figuring it was nothing big. I started fresh with Windows Server 2003 eXPerience Edition things seemed to go ok but when I tried to install the game F.E.A.R. I started having issues. I went to run it and got the messege out of memory. This got me a little worried and I tried installing with Windows 2000. This is when I started to get really worried after installing and on booting for the first time I got a blue screen with the messege KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.
I left the computer sit for a few days and had a friend come help me. When I started it up again it seemed to be running fine no blue screens. Untill after we installed the nForce drivers and started working on the graphics drivers. This is when everything went to hell, whatever graphics driver I downloaded whether it was current, beta, international, or an older driver. After this we tried to install an anti virus program to see whether that was causing the problems but even after downloading that from our college's website it was corrupted also. With the cronic closing of the browser still going on (with iexplore.exe now insted of firefox).
At this point we were kind of stumped so we tried installing a linux distro because we figured that if it was a virus causing all my problems that an install of linux would not have problems. However after installing and setting up linux the problems started with the browser and files corrupting. I decided the next day to just try Windows 2003 again just to see if I had any better luck. But now I got a messge after installing and booting up of

and then
NTVDM.exe encountered a hard error. Ignore or Continue.
This last error continued to come up regardless of what I clicked, the computer then shut itself down in 1 minute 30 seconds.
I realize this is an extremely long post and is rather drawn out but I'm at my wits end as to what to do. The conclution that my friend and I came to was that it must be either the memory or the motherboard. However, I'm sure there are other possiblities, especially the graphics card because of the problems that seem to occur during the install of them or trying to install them.
Any help is welcome or any direction would be awesome.
