First post here. Great forum, Ive been reading for a while and its been an awsome experience so far. So, it is about time I am putting my new system together and below are specs.

1) Antec PERFORMANCE TX TX1050B Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W ATX12V v2.0 Power Supply.
2) ASUS P5B Deluxe Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard.
3) Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6300.

I am confused about the memory part when it comes to stuff like pc5400 or pc6400 or what is going to work on my mobo. I know I need DDR2 800 though.

The system is mainly going to be used for my general home use with occasional gaming like NFS etc. I do run too many applications at the same time though.

Thanx for the input in advance folks. :)

Just to make sure you figured it out properly, PC2-4200 will be a perfect match for that CPU if you don't OC. Now that would be a shame with this board and cpu!

With DDRII-800 (PC2-6400)you can reach 2.8ghz without pushing the ram...
Overall if the price is not THAT bad(they're bad anywayz right now) 800 is a good choice!

and I am getting

Radeon X1950XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card to go along with everything.
