why don't the major big box stores sell Asus notebooks? I saw bestbuy sell HP, Dell, LG, Acer, IBM but no Asus. I Don't see Asus notebook any where in big box stores in Canada. One can buy Asus in small computer shops.
Is there a conspiracy between big PC manufacturers to cut Asus out of the loop?
It may just be an issue of Asus refusing to give them better pricing than they give to small stores (no volume discount), then there is no advantage for them.
Most of Asus' notebooks are meant to be customized by the retailer (go to PRICEWATCH and search for an Asus notebook and you'll find plenty of options), this maybe one of the reasons why they're not sold in the electronics mega stores. On a similar note, I have never seen an Asus motherboard or video card in Best Buy, CompUSA, etc. Only online or small shops.
I'd put that up to the effect that most people order their parts online now.. and only goto CompUSA when something is really wrong (Power Supply Blow Out!).. 90 bucks for a PSU when I could of spent 40 online.. X_X
