if I buy a samsung or any 15" lcd, bring it home, and there's a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, what can I do? I don't really care if there's one on the side or the corner, but in the middle of the screen is unacceptable. Any experiences you could share before I plop down the money? thanks

Best to call the manufacture ask what their policy is. Also buy the unit from a reseller who will give you a 30-day return policy.

Also most the policies I have see talk about dead pixels, not dead sub-pixels. On a LCD monitor, three sub-pixels make up a pixel. A dead pixel on a LCD screen is extremely rare, however dead sub-pixels are very common.
