Does anybody have one of these? Are they any good? I'm going to setup a
home monitoring system and this unit looks half decent. Got pan, tilt,
audio. How is it in low light conditions? It's rated at 1 LUX.

The software provided looks pretty good. One thing it lacks though is the
ability to post images to a website for viewing. Am I missing it? Is there
something else out there I could use?

This camera costs big bucks so I'd like to try and get some feedback before
taking the plunge!

General feedback on home monitoring systems most welcome as well...

If it lives up to 1 lux, it maybe a decent indoor camera if your home is
something other than mostly Dark curtains/walls/furniture/Carpet.
Let us know what you think if you buy one. I'm curious about its low light
capabilities myself.

If you're hip on nix/network/servers - I'd be suprised if you can't pull
m/jpeg snapshots out of it with a simple java image refresh to update at x
second intervals,, let it activate the cam only when someone loads a java
script/webpage.
HomeWatcher program would probably do motion detection or interval
snaps to hdd or ftp -- lots of ways to do things usually with netcams that
are undocumented from dlink - they dont have time to deal with retail
customers let alone offer feature support.

I seriously looked at one of these after liking my DCS-900w. Bit this
bugger is a MS only netcam. No Java support, needs MS Windows and ActiveX.

So, even it fell off my list.

I've got one and would be glad to let you see a demo of it online. I
love it. It does all of the above and the 1 LUX is pretty good (with a
dim night light in the baby's room, I can barely make out the room).

I modified some java scripts to place the live feed on my website. I
actually have 3 camera's - DCS-5300W, DCS-5300 and DCS-2100+. I have
one page with all of the views via java. The 5300 series is by far the
best because of the tilt and pan. They also come with an AV cable that
gives you video and audio out. You can connect to a VCR and record.

I did some research and could not find anything better in this price
range - others are cheaper but do not have audio. If want audio/video
(30fps) and camera control - these are the ones. I also have a
DWL-800AP+ Access Point. This connects to the wireless camera at 22
megabits.

Let me know if you want more info or a peek at the camera.
