I have two PC's connected with a router/KVM switch, so I need a CHEAP card for one of them.

i assume u dont want to do any gaming on it ? if u dont, then just about any video card will support that. i am unsure whether or not you will require a dvi connection for your monitor. so you are better off goin with something like a 7300gs 256mb.

and to be honest, i wouldn't accept those cards u linked for free :P

ahh i just saw that some of those cards you listed to indeed have dvi aswell. but people have said they were crap and overheated quickly, you dont want this.

No, not for gaming. Just so my downloading/uploading/kids computer can send the resolution to the Westinghouse 22" monitor I plan on picking up tomorrow.

how much are u wanting to spend ?

Cheap as possible. I'm going to try and grab the Nvidia 7600GT at CircutCity that's $90 after rebates for my PC.

The PC this cheapie will be going into is an older (gasp) Compaq with an early Athlon 64, 1gb RAM (added 512mb)...just basic.

i dunno about the ones on new egg, but i'm using a geforce 5500FX 128mb on a 20.1" 1680x1050 lcd

its about $90AUD which is around 60 American
i highly doubt anything lower than a geforce 5200 would support widescreen as large lcds weren't even common back in the time of gf3/4

I'll probably just grab one of these:
