In an ongoing holiday tradition, stores offer highly discounted merchandise for people who are willing to line up for early Friday morning openings. Large chains such as Best Buy, CompUSA and Walmart hope that the increased foot traffic will make up for the little or no profit made on the sale items. Read more

I held out ordering until today just in case, but haven't been impressed. Other than newegg offering 2X1Gb of G.Skill 6400 lat. 4 for $199 and free shipping, I haven't seen much else. Was kinda disappointed with Frys as well. On line still seems to be the better deal whether it's Black Friday or not. At least when it comes to PC components...

Well, I let myself get "suckered" in ... possibly. Got an eVGA 7600GT (256-P2-N553-DX) from Circuit City for $106 (net after state tax and the inevitable, hoped for rebates). Hope I don't find out in a day or 30 that I paid way too much ...

Worst thing is that I don't really need that "much" of video card. (OTOH, I realize it's probably way too low-end for many of the people who post here. :))
