8 memory slots in a non-server motherboard? Tags: Memory Motherboards Servers Last response: November 24, 2006 4:31 PM in Memory Share chris421 November 24, 2006 4:24:47 AM Anyone know of a socket 775 motherboard that offers 4 banks (8 slots) of DDR2? Building a budget server, and the high density DIMMs to achieve 8GB in 4 slots are near quadruple the cost of the 2GB kits. Wasted hours looking at the usual makers' offerings...Abit, Asus, ECS, eVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, etc. Absolutely none of them are putting out any boards that support the quad-core Intels along with 8 memory slots. :x Thanks.
