Performance impact from 4x512MB vs 2x1GB RAM
Nov 24, 2006, 4:11 PM
I already have 2 512MB DDR-II 533 MHz kingston value ram sticks in dual channel with C2D E6300
I want to add two more to make it 2GB.
1. How much will be the performance impact as C2D likes 1:1
2. Will this run in dual channel?
3. Do I need to get kingston value ram same make for dual channel or transcend will do?

For Dual channel you need identical modules. So you need the kingston ram of exactly the same type as you already have. If not sure best to get a matched set of 1gb chips
