EDIT : Reworked

Can i use both my IDE DVD and CD disk drives in the DS3?
I intend to get a SATA harddrive as well (not the old IDE type) Will i need any different connectors.

Are there even SATA DVD and CD disk drives on the market? I think im a bit confused about this.

The DS3 like all other boards as one ide port where you can connect two devices namely a DVD drive and a CD drive. There are also sata drives although there is no point in paying the extra money for them because there is no increase in performance.

Listen to yas. Just in case you were confused where to get connecting cables, the DS3 comes with 4 SATA cables, 1 IDE cable, and 1 floppy disk drive cable, so you probably don't need to buy additional cables for your drives. (Included in retail box, don't get OEM motherboard)

Yea sadly you can't put both unless you get a IDE to SATA converter. This is not Gigabytes fault, its Intels. They planned to have NO IDEs on the ICH8 chipsets. Just get a converter, they are around 10-20 bucks.
