Hi.
I have an Axis 2120 that has to have its software reloaded using the
serial cable after a power outage. The thing will not reset using the
buttons on the front and back of the unit.
I called Axis Tech support and posted on their support page. The techs
told me that it was likely the internal battery for the unit. Well,
they don't have a diagram or any idea what battery the 2120 takes.
Anyone here opened up their 2120? Does anyone know what battery the
thing needs?

i dont know axis battery locations but with prices of a small UPS's so
inexpensive these days one certainly should not need to worry too much
about short power outages.

That's a good point. However, the outages that I'm talking about were
problems that lasted over an hour. Things like squirrel fried on
transformer and transformer having to be replaced, or strong storm
knocks out power for a couple of hours.... Believe it or not, these
types happen several times a year to a client and then I drive for
several hours to restart/reprogram the Axis 2120.
I will look into a UPC. The camera takes so little juice compared to a
full computer system, that maybe I can get enough time out of a UPC.
I would still like to buy some replacement internal batteries for the
2120, though.
