I bought a portable USB/eSATA HDD enclosure and installed a Maxtor 100GB SATA 1 drive. I was hoping to be able to quickly load music (eSATA) and use the USB output to play through a Kenwood car stereo with USB input.

HDD shows up as HARD DISK DRIVE in windows "My Computer" and Kenwood software isn't recognizing it (drive has to be "formated" by Kenwood.)

To load the music with all the bells and whistles (i.e. working) I think the HDD needs to be recognized as REMOVABLE STORAGE (via "My Computer" in windows- like a small USB or optical drive.

Any suggestions to get windows/software to see the HDdrive more like a USB removeable/thumb drive? FAT32 vs NTFS?
Windows DOES recognize it as "USB Mass Storage Device" in device manager (the only requirement per Kenwood's "Phat music manager" software)
Other small USB drives work OK with the program.
Thanks for a great forum!
