Im going wireless for my home computers, I have a total of three desktops and a laptop. The main family computer is where the router will go since the cable modem id there. its on the ground level floor and the other two are upstairs in my brothers room and one in my room. My brothers room has a wired connection so its really only my computer and the laptop that need the wireless connection. So whats a decent and inexpensive setup?? I dont need real long distance since everything will be pretty close to the router, my room is directly above the room with the router itsonly maybe 15ft away. Any reccomendations on an inexpensive router?? I was looking at the Belkin 7231 for $59, is this a god choice or does anyone have a better reccomendation??
thanks
Frank
I have yet to have a good experience with belkin wireless equipment. My recommendation is Linksys equipment.
The Linksys WRT54GL would be a good router choice. For the desktop the WUSB54G would be a good/flexible option. You could get the PCI adaptor but the USB adaptor is just as good if not better and it can be easily moved to other machines later.
