low money, need update

Ok i want to move to core 2 duo but like im only working with like 400 dollars right now, i have all the cd drives i will need, i have the hard drive and windows installed, i have a 400 watt psu. but i need to get a new mobo, gpu, cpu and ram. What do you suggest i do to start to upgrade?

I'm going to assume that you already know the prices of computer components... you can barely get 2/4 with $400

This is probably the cheapest you could get:

c2d E6300 $180

gigabyte s3 $115

1 gig DDR2 533mhz ram around $130

gfx card 7600GS $130

thats total: $555 dollars and I dont think you can get alot cheaper than that. You could look at a athlon 64 which would be cheaper.

i know, my lame parents wont let me get a job during the school year so i guess ill wait till summer and do a gig on my guitar and/or bass and get like 2k from 10 hrs of work

Just take it 1 step at a time bro, the C2D E6300, Gigabyte mobo and some DDR2 667 RAM can be had for $400 or less...then save up again for a 8800GTS which will put you in the DX/10 world with a copy of Vista which comes out in the end of Jamuary...
