i have recently been having a problem with my x800xt. My screen in certain areas will flicker or things will become very different from what they are suppose to be. For example. if i am playing CoH in 800x600 it runs fine and also in other games. But if i change my resolution to 1280x1024 the problem will occur. I dont know what made it start doing this. I use to never have this problem. I have tried reinstalling video drivers, games, and messing around with monitor refresh rate. Nothing worked. If anyone could help me, it will be much appreciated. Here are 2 ingame shots from WoW of the problem.

Yea, it looks like glass shards. It's a sign of a serious memory problem. I would try the card in another machine though because I have personally seen this type of artifacting in a machine that wasnt putting enough volts to it's AGP slot(and likely the rest of the system).

You're about due for an upgrade anyways.

hey,

thanks alot, i never thought about it being a voltage problem...but your probably right. i got a shitty powersupply, and this card is a monster lol.

You really need to try that card in another machine.

How's the dust situation and airflow inside the case? You might check to see that all the fans, Including the GPU fan, can still run at full RPM, and aren't loosing their bearings, which will occur prematurely when systems are left running 24/7. Also, you might want to remove the heat sink, clean off the old thermal compound, and reinstall it with AS5.

And we know you know what memory artifacts look like. :P

I totally agree with ya that it looks like the mem and the best next step is test in another machine.
