Having Touble Detecting Sound Card

Hello all,

I got a Creative Xi-Fi XtremeMusic and a Gigabyte P965-S3 Mobo. It seems like the mobo cant detect the card right. I've install the drivers from the website and everytime I boot it says "New Hardware detect" and its a multimedia audio device. And when i try to open the Creative audio control it says no audio device is device has been detected to support this program 8O .

I don't have any drivers for the AC97 that came with the mobo installed.

Did you disable the onboard audio in the BIOS first?

I agree... check that you have disabled the sound options in the motherboard bios screen. It would be easy for there to be a conflict of some kind with that hardware still active.

i guess i forgotten to disable the onboard audio after i flashed the BIOS which did a factory default
