Task bar notification area icon

The icon that shows that I'm connected to the internet has disappeared from
the task bar notification area. I can't figure out how to get it back.

Open Network Connection and right click the icon that represents your
internet connection. Select Properties. Place a check in the box next to
"show icon in notification area when connected." Click OK to dismiss the
screen.

Click Start and the click Connect to. When Your ISP dial up window appears
click the Properties button. In the properties window right at the bottom of
the window you will see an option 'show icon in the notification area when
connected'. Make sure that there is tick in the box on the left of this
option. Now press OK and then connect to your ISP as normal

Thanks everyone. I rebooted and whaddya know - there was my icon back right
where it should be!
