asrock dual vsta 775 + sata. Help pls!

I've got the famous asrock m/b!!! I'm gonna buy the E6400 first thing tomorow! (monday). Bye bye prescott!!! Just sold it and the old m/b yesterday!!!!!! weeeee.

ok, ahem....

I have 2 sata hd's and 1 ide. I have 2 partitions in the 1 sata (maxtor maxline III 300gb), where the one is used as xp-install folder. (known as c: as well!). I'm not interested in raid setup. I use the other 2 hd's as storage. So my question is this: do I need to make the raid disk and boot from there? Or shall I put on bios to boot from sata first, run the xp-cd and chose the partition I want as my install folder directly?

Any help would be most welcome.

System specs:
asrock 775 dual vsta
E6400 (well tomorow)
2x512MB DDR400 Kingston value ram@3-3-3-8 (been running@2.5-3-3-7 for last 10 months)
6800gs agp Asus 512mb ddr2 (I know ddr2.....sigh, well going to sell it in 2-3 months)
maxtor 300gb maxline III sata2 16mb cache
seagate 300.9 sata2 16mb cache
maxtor 40gb ide!!!!
sound card:Audigy
floppy and dvd/rw as well
19' lg lcd monitor

can't think of anything else.

Also does anyone knows what ddr2 pc6400 will work with this m/b?
