1950 PRO should outperform the 7950 GT according to the numbers. However, assume they're similar for a minute (or even for argument's sake that the GT is a bit faster)..........real world gaming difference will mean a couple of fps. Seriously. So, all things then being equal, the PRO is a much better deal due to the cheaper price ;)

And I generally like NV, and I'm recommending ATI. LOL. But not just me, most people in that thread say the PRO as well.

Me, I go for bang-for-buck. At that price, the PRO seems like a much better deal, especially if it is faster than the GT.

In the end though, I'm sure both will perform well. So I would think it comes down to price........?

Those two cards trade blows but overall the 7950GT is faster.

I see arguements for both cards at those prices as well as the X1900GT and the X1950XT. Totally depends on the games you play, but for me (shopping online in USA) I'd either grab the X1900GT for $169 or the X1950XT for $269 instead of either of those two.

If 230 is pushing it, get the x1950 and save the rest for something more useful. Maybe you need a new sound card, speakers, mouse, headset? :)

Odds are, if you spent the extra $50, you'd never see the difference in the game.
