I can get this Fortron Sparkle PSU in Canada for $40
http://www.fsp-group.com.tw/english/1_product/2_detail.asp?mainid=1&fid=52&proid=197
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=11700AC6643&vpn=ATX-400-PN-B&manufacture=FORTRON SOURCE
it has dual 18 Amp 12 volt rails.
The system I want to power will have:
C2D E6400
GA-965-DS3 mobo
2GB Ram
1 SATA II drive (320 GB Barracuda)
1 DVD writer
7600GT graphics (not a gamer, but these boards are quite reasonably priced right now)
Want to overclock to 3.2 to 3.5 Ghz (I do a lot of number crunching)
The PSU calculator figured that I only needed about 370W (including OC'ing).
The only downside I see is the 70% efficiency rating.
I realize that generally speaking everyone recommends 500W to 700W high quality PSU's, but since I'm not a gamer, will this one do?
