I am planning on building my first PC with following spcs:

C2D E6600
ASUS P5B WiFi
Antec NeoHE 550
XFX nvidia 7900GT
Audigy ZS Plat.
2x Seagate Baracudda SATA 160GB (Raid 0)
Pioneer DVD+-R (DVR-710)
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) TWIN2X2048-6400C4
Apevia (Aspire) X-cruser Case

I am not sure if the standard case cooling (2x80mm fans) will be enough or if i need aftermarket cooloing. As i am a first timer, any advice about precutions to avoid problems during the build will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I would suggest getting a case with at least 2 120mm fans - one input and one output. Also - the Arctic Cooling 7 is a very reliable aftermarket heatsink to consider.

Otherwise you would be ok with what you have listed.

Cheers.

Everything looks great .
I would get a better case for the future.
you wont regret it but will if you deside to add better cooling or water.
my p180 holds all I need and room for more.

I think you would be fine. I have basically the same case (x-plorer) but instead of an 80 mm fan in back, I bought a blue apevia 120 mm fan to get better airflow. The max temp in my case by the northbridge gets to 117 degrees farenheight. That's ONLY the northbridge and I've had the sensor elsewhere and the whole case never tops that playing games.

I found that the side vent could be replaced with one of the 80 mm fans supplied with the case. I haven't had a need to try it, but you might consider it.

Basically, just replace the back 80 mm fan with a 120 mm fan. It'l work fine for any system .. You aren't really putting alot of heat into it anyways.

geez dude what are you cooling? nasa? nice rig!

I have C2D E6600 and AMD X2 5200 (using a Zalman 9700 led Cooler)
I have a tendency to push things to thier limits. :)
Cooling is one of the most important aspects of stability.
The case air flow is important and sometimes an overlooked factor with all cooling solutions.
In my opinion you shouldnt cut corners with the case. 8)

I agree, i first bought an x-cruiser, but I got sick of it and got the p180b too, which is an amazing case

I've looked at that case often - but the flimsy, plastic door just turns me off ... maybe it's just me, but I wish these case manufacturers would just stop putting plastic in important parts.

Hell, I guess I could just take the plastic door off ...

I never looked at it that way. 8O
I kind of like the plastic.
It’s actually quite sturdy.
Dent resistant like the Saturn.
the structures design has an acoustic dampening charactoristic.
but you had to go and ruin it

I'm with you. I was at a brick and mortar pc shop the other day. Not a single display of cases still had a plastic door in tact.

That's what I was saying, I was at a CompUSA store - looked (hard) at that case, and that plastic door sucked (big time) - I went there to buy it, had a sale going, but left disappointed ... :(

Your right about the door .
the venting strip on the left front of the case is the hinge support for the door.
very bad Idea. :(
I wonder how long that will last?
looks replaceable but again poor design.
