Help in chosing the correct motherboard

I am going to build a PC, and I was wondering if someone more knowledgeable than myself can help in choosing the correct motherboard. I want a well rounded system, but at an affordable cost. I am not a serious gamer, although I do like to play first person shooters such as FEAR. I am going to use a Core 2 Duo E6400, about 2 GB or RAM. Also thinking of GForce 7600 video card, suggestions also welcome on this one.
