Is it ok to use an adapter for a 4-pin ATX power connector to make it work with a 8-pin EPS power connector? If so will this work? ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681... )

I assume that you are using the adapter to plug into the 8pin power connector on the mobo. If so, then yeah, that'll work. 12 volts is 12 volts whether 4pin or 8pin. Just make the 12v rails have enough amps and the psu enough wattage to handle the system load.

Of course, the best solution is an 8pin power connector direct from the psu. If not available, then as said, the adapter will work just fine.

Good luck!
