I am having a problem with my wireless pre-N router (F5D8230-4) stability. It happens regardless of how close or far away I am from the router and on all of the machines I have in the house with various wifi cards (Intel/Netgear/Broadcom). It seems to reboot every few hours and leaves no information in logs. At first I thought it might be traffic coming from the Internet causing to crash but I have since put it behind a firewall (Linux) and by deduction it seems that is not the issue. I do have several other access points in the area that are broadcasting on channels 1,6,11. Current settings are Mac filtering ON, WPA On and channel on auto. I have tried to switch channels to see it would stabilize but this did not help. Any ideas on what might be the issue?? Any help or pointers is appreciated. =)
Hate to pop your bubble but that feature is built-in to all Belkin routers. Havn't found one yet that doesn't hang. When you are dealing with a non Std spec. 11n, you have to accept the bugs that come with it. Take it back an get a Netgear or Linksys product 11g.
Did you do the automatic firmware update. If not, please do. Your router may come with the old firmware, which buggy abd reboot many times. I have mine running like a charm. I love the Belkin stability.
