so my Dad bought the 7600GS, and I suggested he was a fool, as I said you may as well spend the tad extra for the 7600GT.

was it a good decision on his part?

It is a decent card for the price, runs far cry with all the eye candy at 1280x1024, Yes a good decision

I would have just spent the extra $ and gotten the gt. after all the gs is the same as the gt except for a lower clocked speed and only one DVI out.
