Apparently, the 4x4 system, despite being a lot more expensive, is inferior, sometimes by a large margin, the the Core 2 Quad. Hold tight though, this isn't the best source and it could sway, but I've heard that all too often when people were saying "omg Conroe isn't that powerful and the benches are rigged"
just my 2 cents, can't wait for an affordable quad core on either side.
