well i was wondering why companys dont make a true gigabit router instead of one that has a 10/100 wan port?

everything i found has a 10/100 wan port and 4 or greater gigbit port switch on it i gave up and built one out of an old computer p3 700
768mb ram 20 gb hd 2 gigabit cards and used clark connect for the system it was free for home use sent thru abs gigabit switches it would have been simpler to buy one but no luck finding one unless you know of one ?????????

The reason is simple. Broadband connections for consumers aren't available at speeds above 100Mbps.

I think consumer Internet over 100Mbps is a ways off, at least widespread deployment.

Gigabit hardware doesn't improve performance if the network they're connected to doesn't have the bandwidth.
