I've decided i wanted a new computer to play the highend video games, I have on its way P5VDC-X and duo core 3.0 pentium D, and 7900GS .this motherboard supports agp8/pci-e and also ddr and ddr2. I purchased some ddr2 (DDR2 667 (PC2 5400) from the newegg site, relizing later that this motherboard supports is PC2 4300 (DDR2 533), both are 240 pin.

My question is Will my higher functioning memory work and downclock to work at the maximum of the motherboard capacity? or will it just not function at all?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Yes it will work, why did you by that board, not for high end games at all, nor is that processor...

But yeah the ram is fine!

Well the problem is that this is much of marketing speech, depending on what you upgraded for, it might still be worth it, you should still ask on forums before buying 8)
