The E6300 will be faster. Compare the E6400 to the 950 and lower the E6400's performance a bit.

Hmmm, could you tell me what you plan to use the CPU for? If the E6300 is in your budget, get it.

E6300 ftw, beats the life out of every P4.
November 29, 2006 8:59:54 PM

see? the E6300 kicks the Pentium D in the balls, breaks a chair over its head, beats it with a sack of oranges to within an inch of its life, then finishes it off my smashing its head into a pancake with a slegde hammer. then feeds the corpes to a dog.

You forgot pissed on the remains.

And set what was left on fire. Because, y'know, the PDs run hot. And eat power. And stuff.

Jokes that have to be explained suck.

GET THE C2D.

im using it for games and video decoding and the E6300 1.86 GHZ cost 30$ more than the pentium D 950 now i have the pentium D 830 iwant to see big diffrence in performance but i have limited budget i want to replace the PD 830 because hes overheated wen he is idle what do u recommend me

if your working with videa then the E6300 is the one you want to get, even if it costs a bit more.
November 30, 2006 3:59:12 PM

 How old are you? If you are old enough you should know that The more The temperature the more the Electricity used and Reversed The More the Energy wasted the More the Temperature is. He gave you the Link because he thought you'd figure out that It's about 1/2 The temperature< Oh accord just wrote what I'm typing up :p

i know that but if the stock fan is worth shit his tempreture will always be hight my Pentium D on idle 70 and on any load 95

Everyone's telling you straight. It runs cool, even when moderately overclocked using the stock cooler. It's faster then a Pentium anything, no contest, because they're not even in the same league. It's simply a great processor, especially for the money. Trust us, you'll be extremely pleased with it. Just buck up and get the 6300. End of story.

It's all been said. C2D e6300 is the one to get. Stay away from the D's. Eat healthily and don't drink too much. Stay in school.
