Yeah, but they stole unknown stuff and made it amazing. Was it done "properly"? No, but they were the Gods of Rock back then. They didn't care.

I've decided never to say "best ever" or "favorite" for movies and bands as they change based on my moods, but if I got stranded on a desert island with one bands music, I'd be thrilled to have Zep there with me.

I guess most people like gay bands nowadays, i dont think its about the music anymore....all gay poetry emo crap.....Solo guitarists like beck and vai are the only good players left still doin their thing so you can shove your giant falloutboy turd down your own throat....

I'm with Jeff on this one. I can't label one single band as being the best. There are note worthy bands which from time to time have periods where I'd come close into saying their darn good, but not all out best. A good band is one where I can put the album in, listen the whole thing and enjoy every song (bar the odd one). Ramones spring to mind here while Led Zep didn't quite do it for me because a.) they were a band that excelled live and as such b.) their recorded albums can't come close to the live experience. That leads to c.) me enjoying Zep only on dvd format but once in a blue moon.

Further, singling out one single band as "the greatest" more or less makes you a rare find - monotonous and boring..

@vaker5 I don't like dirty rock music, it corrupts the soul. I prefer to listen to The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra.

Yep, sounds OK to me.

I enjoyed the double dvd that showed an early Albert hall gig - for the time it was produced in, the guitar work was excellent.

But not as good as a whole lotta love...

Shame its more tea for one at the moment then.

Over the Hills and Far Away is a song that sounds a lot trickier than it actually is. I could teach you that in about ten minutes.
