Is a 24 pin ATX connection really necessary? Tags: MSI-Microstar Connection Diamond ATX Motherboards Last response: November 30, 2006 11:33 AM in Motherboards Share Tech-Style November 30, 2006 10:56:43 AM Hi all I have an Msi K8N Diamond Plus. My PSU only has a 20pin ATX connector but the board has a 24 pin socket. I have been using the board for about 6 months just using the 20 pin with no problems. I've just read a review saying you need to use a 24 pin ATX connection. Anyone know why?
