I have a quick question. I have an x6800 oc'd to 3.52ghz (320X11) @ stock voltage 1.32. My ram is 800mhz stock @ 4-4-4-12 2T but I have mine @ 4-4-3-8 1T. All benches are good and 170,000 on aquamark 3. My question is, what difference does it make if I am 320X11 or 350X10 or 300X12 on my multipliers if I can seperately clock my ram and set timings independently from FSB. Does lower fsb and voltage go hand in hand or what?

Could someone please shed some light on this :)

There are many answers ... but the best sollution its to benchmark each setting (300x12, 320x11 , 350x10) . Use Everest 3.50.761 or Sandra7 and run a full loop of benchmarks (memory+proc) for each setting ...write them down and u'll have the whole picture to figure out how fsb influence performance and what it affects.

Core 2 Duo perform marginally better at a 1:1 ratio. I agree that you should just bench them all (if they are all stable) and see which performs the best. Each would be the best in some situations when you are FSB limited or your memory can't keep up.

If your memory can handle it, I predict running 1:1 @ 350 x 10 is going to have the best performance. I don't know which ram you have, but I am skeptical that it will be able to push those speeds without relaxing timings to at least 5-5-5-15 and upping the voltage a bit. I'm sure someone who has experimented more with an unlocked multiplier (haven't been so lucky as to be able to afford any) will have a for sure answer for you.

Trial and error is my favorite :) It is part of the fun of OCing.
