I wonder what kind of drugs are using those who are making AMD price lists?

I wonder what kind of drugs are using those who are making AMD price lists?

There was an accident while they were testing the 4x4 platform and showing it to the execs...Needless to say, the high temperature caused the special heat sink materials to smoke, effectively distorting reality for top level AMD execs.

Warning! Fumes are known by the state of California (well, Texas for AMD), to cause delusions of grandeur. They may distort reality and allow you to believe your power consuming platform is more superior than it actually is.

Or something like that..

Well i think the price of the Opteron is justified, as it is supposedly a high quality CPU tested and validated to be used in servers and workstations.
And i don't think you can replace it with an FX-7x since these don't support buffered memory and ECC.
But those prices of the Semprons, seem obviously ridiculous.. even though, the prices of single core FX CPUs, for example, remained also insanely high for a long time.

Yeah but the QX6700 in a 975XBX2 can run 8gb of ECC memory :) but I still wouldnt use that for server purposes, maybe a workstation.

But see, the Intel Xeon's don't nearly have as much of a price premium and those are said to be handpicked for server use with added SMP instructions yadda yadda...

Then again, Intel still has Pentium EE editions floating out in the wild...
