I was looking into getting a new monitor and was checking out the pricing on displays and noticed how much the LCD TVs have come down. Are the LCD TVs good enough resolution to use as a standard monitor (mostly for programming) for day to day computer use or are they intended for more of the media PC line?

I was looking at the Olevia LT27HVX Black 27" HD LCD TV vs. the ACER AL2423WDR 24" WIDESCREEN LCD MONITOR but this is intended as more of a general question.
