Upon booting i get a SmartHeap Library error message window, with bad_mem_handle as the reason. I have a newly installed Windows 7, with 4Gig of ram. I was still in the process of loading programs onto this, when i noticed this on rebooting. It does allow continuation with no obvious side effects, but i would like to get rid of it, and if possible how to tell what is generating the message.

Probably one of the programs you installed. You can go to the task manager to find out what program this is referring to, and then remove it from you computer (or try troubleshooting it, maybe running it in compatibility mode will help)

Good luck

EDIT: here is another thread where some possible issues and solution are discussed.
