i just changed fan 50% to fan 100% all the time in rivatuner cause my idle temps was 65 degrés celsius for core and 52 degré celsius for ambiant..is it too high for this graphic card ? i didnt do any game yet, i just installed my computer, new one. stock heatsink, i didnt put any termal past on it...now i have 100% fan cycle on, temp core is 55 degré celsius and 43 ambiant, do you think its too high ? im afraid that will go way more up while playing a videogame :/ any idea ?

62 is a bit high.

Set the fan temp about 70-80% and it'll be fine.

Try playing a games for like one hour, and see check your temps then.

62 is far from killing it, but I would say it shouldn't be idling like that.

In Riva Tuner go to:

Target Adapter - Customise - Graphic Subsystem Diagnostic Report

Make sure that Nvidia VGA Bios Information is ticked then scroll down to it and you will see: Core and ambient thermal thresholds.

These are the limits of the card. Anything less than these, your card is ok.

62 is a NORMAL temperature for the 8800GTX it runs very hot mine idles at 59 and under load reaches around 70 this is normal, dont worry about it, go play

Thats what my 6800 GS AGP idles and games at, not a problem for my card, but it is now officially (2 generations) old and outdated

BTW, one of my friends has an ATI Radeon X1900 XT and it goes as high as 90 degrees Celcius (and his case has great airflow), and his card has never hiccuped or slowed down once. I guess some cards just take the heat very easily.

Don't make me slap you foo! 62C is a very average temp. Mine idles at 63C.

Don't forget that our 8800 GTX's deliver twice the performance your puny ATI cards and thus run hotter.

yes but if it where copper it would be much better, im waiting for a good aftermarket for the 8800GTX

Yeah, that is a pretty normal temp. Especially being as how ATI X1900XTX can get up to 70-80c with stock cooler.

I'd say that 60s is good :D.
