  1. 62 is a bit high.

Set the fan temp about 70-80% and it'll be fine.

Try playing a games for like one hour, and see check your temps then.

62 is far from killing it, but I would say it shouldn't be idling like that.
  2. In Riva Tuner go to:

Target Adapter - Customise - Graphic Subsystem Diagnostic Report

Make sure that Nvidia VGA Bios Information is ticked then scroll down to it and you will see: Core and ambient thermal thresholds.

These are the limits of the card. Anything less than these, your card is ok.
  3. 62 is a NORMAL temperature for the 8800GTX it runs very hot mine idles at 59 and under load reaches around 70 this is normal, dont worry about it, go play
  4. Thats what my 6800 GS AGP idles and games at, not a problem for my card, but it is now officially (2 generations) old and outdated

BTW, one of my friends has an ATI Radeon X1900 XT and it goes as high as 90 degrees Celcius (and his case has great airflow), and his card has never hiccuped or slowed down once. I guess some cards just take the heat very easily.

Don't make me slap you foo! 62C is a very average temp. Mine idles at 63C.

Don't forget that our 8800 GTX's deliver twice the performance your puny ATI cards and thus run hotter.

  6. 7800gs oc 75mhz core clock, memory 100mhz normal temps 23c to 27c all day game play 32c marks shown are the oced speeds
  7. thats nice your 7800 is last years piece of **** the 8800GTX has twice the transistors and consumes alot more power
  8. Good to see all the intelligence in this thread has gone out the window

Don't forget the heatsink is like twice the size too
  10. yes but if it where copper it would be much better, im waiting for a good aftermarket for the 8800GTX
  11. Yeah, that is a pretty normal temp. Especially being as how ATI X1900XTX can get up to 70-80c with stock cooler.

    I'd say that 60s is good :D.
  12. hehehe... ;-)

(hey, it's only a an inch or two longer than the x1950xtx)
