Its a westinghouse widescreen 19" lcd. its 500:1... 8ms..
its 149$ us..... I'm just wonder a few things... if its good enough to replace my 19" crt.... space IS AN ISSUE... I moved and where i put
my 19" crt its tight, it rather something a little shorter and well thin, aka lcd... so i thought of a 19" ws lcd.
but is 8ms enuff? is 19" widescreen enuff?
most importantly is 500:1 enuff?? cause people sit around it in a 90 degree circle watching me kick ass at wow. (I'm the world champion. just kidding... but not)
is 500:1 suck? 700:1 better?
I hear good things about westinghouse... cause i get some help?
The contrast ratio shouldn't be your largest concert if you want to see it at multiple angles. Look at the specs, it should list the possible viewing angles.
I'd tend to disagree... LCD's tend to have much smaller pixels than CRT's, higher contrast ratios, and lastly MUCH lower radiation emision. I have two very high quality Sun 21" CRT's at work, and a 24" LCD at home. I'm much more comfortable at home than at work.
I get no ghosting, trailing, etc., on my LCD, and its only 16ms grey to grey. OK, I don't 'game' at work, so don't have a comparison... But while I'd not trade my 21" Sun's for a 19" LCD, no matter how fast, I'd also not trade my 24" LCD for a 21" CRT of any quality, at any price.
As I said earlier, I can see no ghosting or trailing on my 24" LCD with only a 16 MS grey to grey response time. This is across a number of FPS games, race sims, flt sims, sub sims...
Happens to be Dell 2405, and I have an old pair of 6800 Ultra PCI running in SLI... I get about 9900 score in 3d mark 05, so don't think I'm missing any FPS.... (where do the missing FPS go, the bit bucket?)
OK, so where do the missed frames go? One would assume that if the processor in my LCD missed one, it would then have to re-process that frame to keep the video in sync. Which would slow down the PCI bus, and the GPU's as well. Given that I'm getting 9900+ in 3dmark05....
