I've been having problems with the drive lately...

At first I wanted to burn something to a CDRW, and all 3 of them will not work in the drive, and if I put a cd in the drive it takes ages to spin down, and to access my computer.

I have only tried 3 cdrw's, a CD/DVD cleaning disc, and AVP2, all of which will not work, but they work fine in the DVD ROM drive.

Any suggestions?

Your problem could be an incompatible brand of CD.
Secondly, use latest drivers from Samsung website.
Or, look into the idea of using a different burning software package.

Hope this helps. Good Luck. :D

After Dell switched to that model of Samsung drive I know I personally rma'd or replaced 10+. New dvd-rw's go for less than $30 - toss it.

It still works though... I can install XP from that drive in BIOS...

It must be software related...Time for format :p
