Compaq s200

Anyone know how I can get the compaq s200 flatbed scanner to work with Win7 32 bit.

Hi there,

Unfortunately there aren't any Windows Vista or Windows 7 drivers available for the compaq s200 scanner, and it's not listed on the Vista or Win-7 hardware compatability list.

Can you run it in XP compatibility mode when you click thr driver exe?

yes I did have it working fine on my previous XP computer.

Hi again,

When the manufacturer doesn't put out drivers for Win-7, or ones from Vista that probably would work, it's difficult.
About the only way to easily use an external device that just has the older Win-XP drivers, is to run the Windows XP Mode in the Windows Virtual PC.
That way you are actually running Windows XP (inside the Win-7 OS) where the XP 32 bit driver will interface between Win XP and the Compaq scanner.
However, windows XP Mode is only available in Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 7 Professional, and Windows 7 Ultimate.

I had a similar situation where my absolute favorite HP 4MP laserjet did not have the drivers updated for Win-7 32 bit or 64 bit, and I had to finally break down and buy a more up to date (not necessarily better by any means) printer.

I can install in compat mode, it communicates and actually seats the scanner - even installs the driver. I looked for a generic driver - nothing.
