my pc not starting,I suspect it's a problem with memory..

no display is there from the time pc is switched on,
monitor led just keeps blinking and hdd led is on.
i've ddr2 ram, 512mb running at 533mhz, intel D102GCC
the print on one of the IC of my memory module is little faded

i've tried putting the module on other slot
i've tried removing connections, such as cd drive, hard disk

pls someone tell me what the problem could be.

I know this sounds a little off.

but first try your video card...
then look at your ram...

The simplest way is to install another module and remove the old one...

also have you tried to reset your BIOS settings? i.e. remove MB battery for a minute, and reset the jumpers to reset the BIOS (look in your mobo manual for your exact prcedures)...

again:
first reset BIOS...
then try another ram module...
then try the video card...
then pray to god.
