Microphone not working on windows7 - DELL INSPIRON 6400

Hi,

I have DELL INSPIRON 6400. I upgraded VISTA to windows 7, and after that everything is working fine but not my microphone.

Please help

Hi,

Sometimes with upgrades the config settings get reset or changed. Try right clicking on the volume control in the system tray, choose recording devices, and check the microphone properties and make sure it is 'enabled' there. Or if your laptop has a creative labs or other sound card, that the microphone is set as desired in their configuration dialog box.

To fix this go to Control Panel - Hardware and Sound, and then scroll down
to the bottom and click on the SigmaTel Audio link. When it opens tick the
Allow reconfiguration Pop-Ups box.

It worked for me now. What I did was uninstalled the sigmaTel and installed it again.
