ISP's hate 'em, but users love 'em. Do you use P2P applications to distribute multimedia files?

I download episodes of my favourite cooking shows for recipes. utorrent and Emule Xtreme mod, both obfuscated. hopefully my isp isnt throttling/shaping my connection after wondering why i am a little over the strict 50gb per month limit. whatever gb i go over a month is tacked onto my next months limit, cheapskate fuckers

update, Use bitorrent now after some bad Limewire experiences and that i porefer an album to a song, its come on along way.
i use the uTorrent client.

i dont seed as in my area, that the only people who get prosocuted (Seeders)

i would love to buy music but right now i have no money, what am i suposed to do, not listen to music?

The band/artist make their money from ticket sale to gigs, not from, records. would the bands prefer me not to listen or listen to it and even recommend their music

i pay full price for CDs (not **** 128mp3) of the band which get my respect, aslo i hate to pay for a virtual media. what happens if my HDD dies, or i want to sell my CDs, oh i cant there mp3s. i still have records. but when whatever replaces MP3's what am i supposed to do. i want o be able to play my music through my hifi, and i want it to sound good through it. so if i buy media it has to be good.

more bands should do what NIN and radiohead did, even through radiohead suck as a band (that my opinion you can have yours)

PS: this network section is dead: this post was in 2008, and the tread started nearly 2 years ago today and its still opnt he frontpage of Networks.

Mmmm Pretty sure thats how the whole concept of buying/selling works... Just like saying, I would love to buy Titan Quest, but I don't have the money, what am I supposed to do, not play it? And thats EXACTLY what made a nice game and company like iron lore go down in flames. I'm a hypocrite in some ways on this subject, but if you truly like something, buy it, like me or everyone else that believes the product should deserve the money.

I use utorrent but 99% is anime, and lately mma stuff- very rarely music. and the past couple audio cd's i've dl'd were technically legal because I've bought them at least once before and just don't have the cd anymore because it was lost or damaged.

as far as movies and games though, most of the time i buy used off ebay or something so its not as if my purchase is keeping money from anybody who made the work.
