Should I be able to connect a 802.11b laptop that only has WEP security with a wireless router that is set to WPA2 security?
I've gotten on hotspots with this laptop, and I can't imagine that every laptop connected has the same encryption setting.
I even disabled the WEP and my firewall on the laptop and still nothing. I know this wasn't too smart, but I just wanted to see if I could connect.
I checked that I had the correct ssid and channel set on the wireless profile on the laptop. And since I've connected via other laptops(i.e. one's with wpa2 encryption cards) I know the router is set up and able to connect.
Any light shed on this would be greatly appreciated.
