dvd re writer reading but

hi just wondering if anyone could advise : I put in a dvd movie (retail) and my DVD W can read the disc but it plays the movie in a frame by frame sort of way, very slow , i tried puting in another DVD and the same thing happened. Is this a sign thst it is on the way out, or is there a way to cure it?

you can try some other playing soft.
be sure that the dvd is not scrachted or dirty.
propably its the disc faultly.
try some other dvd movie.

Be sure you are using DMA to access the drive and not PIO, most likely a bios setting.
Also be sure that you have proper video card drivers installed.
